Palm Desert made a commitment ten years ago toward regional economic development through the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP). As a board member and director on CVEP, Jim has been expanding trade opportunities with Mexico and aggressively recruiting "clean" technologies to the Coachella Valley, but he points out "Not all of this has to occur within our City limits." Over the last ten years CVEP’s efforts have generated over $100 Million to the local economy. Because of Jim’s leadership, the Coachella Valley is well on its way to securing a third leg to its economic base. |
